Quantum Pinpoint Communications (QPC for short) is a method of superluminal information transmission developed by Dr. Edmund McMerry in 2064. QPC is a very difficult system to use, as the user must know the exact location, direction of travel, and relative velocity of the target QPC system. As such most QPC systems have a built-in mechanism used to track its own movements so that it can keep in check with its master control system, which it uses to maintain connection with other QPC systems. If the user or the QPC system cannot determine or does not know the necessary information for transmission, it becomes a rather expensive and heavy paper weight until connection with another QPC system can be established. QPC systems work by sending qubit information to a specific place in space-time, making it incredibly difficult to send wide-spread messages without the aide of radio communications. No known range for quantum pinpoint communication has been discovered, but warping space-time has been known to make QPC systems lose their connection with other systems, as such it is impossible to communicate with vessels traveling via the use of Alcubierre drives. Additionally, QPC has an incredibly low bit-rate, and any messages more complex than Morse code causes the system to freeze.
